The Moffat County Plat and Brand Book (1996-1997) was used to locate potential dam
and reservoir sites and an initial list of owners was prepared. The Moffat County Assessor's Office
was visited on June 14, 2000 to verify property ownership and obtain the most recent computer
' documentation regarding landowners. Several properties had changed ownership since the Plat and
Brand Book had been last updated. The ownership list was updated and provided to CRWCD.
CRWCD contacted landowners and obtained appropriate permission for site access during field
reconnaissance activities.
4.1.2.2 Mapping
Site-specific base maps and Morapos Creek and Fortification Creek basin maps were prepared by
CRWCD for the preliminary field reconnaissance activities. In addition, USGS topographic maps
(1:24,000 - 7.5 minute quads) for each of the sites and the BLM Craig, Colorado (1:100,000 scale)
' map were obtained. USGS geologic maps for the Craig area were reviewed and surficial geology and
geology maps of the area prepared, as depicted in Figure 8, Surfuial C wlgy Map of Field Rermmaissm w
Area and Figure 9, Geologic Map of Field Rermmaissmue Area.
MorttgsWnery Watson * P.O Box 774018 * Stec &lt Springs, Colorado 80477 * (970) 879.6260
'
301VO oH
os1?om w sn air
