Using model Mo, estimates for adult
humpback chubs were 764 in 1998, 921 in 1999, and 539 in 2000 (Table 1). Confidence
intervals were large (Table A-1) and the point estimates were not significantly different from
each other. The average for the 3-year period was 741 individuals. Three subadult humpback
chubs (< 200 mm TL) were captured in 1998. When these fish were included in the matrix,
the population estimate was 948 individuals - a difference of about 180 individuals, although
the difference was not significant (P~0.05). It is not clear why the change was so great when
8
15 17 19 21 23 25 27 29 31 33 35 37 39 41
15 17 19 21 23 25 27 29 31 33 35 37 39 41
15 17 19 21 23 25 27 29 31 33.35 37 39 41
Fish Length (1 cm)
