The correlations and the potential for adding <br />unmeasurable error indicate that estimating backwater area does not add to mean CPE as an <br />' index to relative abundance of Colorado squawfish. The small improvement (and <br />considerable potential for immeasurable additional error) in relative abundance estimates <br />' generated by adding aerial video to ISMP does not justify the high cost of making it an <br />annual component of the program. <br />' This evaluation applies only to aerial video as it relates to calculation of relative- <br />abundance indices of YOY Colorado squawfish for ISMP. Aerial video has provided <br />important information about physical habitat in the Green and Colorado rivers and can <br />continue to do so. Aerial video could become a valuable component of channel monitoring <br />' studies or other investigations requiring measurement of large-scale channel features.
