ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Many individuals have participated in ISMP since it began and their efforts are appreciated. Pat
Martinez (CDOW) and Miles Moretti (UDWR) played lead roles for their agencies during the first
years of ISMP. Principals among many biologists collecting ISMP data include Melissa Trammel and
Brant Gutermuth from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources; Doug Osmundson, Bob Burdick, and
Dale Ryden from the Fish and Wildlife Service; and Rich Valdez, Bill Masslich, and Bryan Cowdell
from BIO/WEST, Inc. Many seasonal employees of the three agencies also contributed to data
collection and analysis. Bob Muth, Darrel Snyder and students from the Larval Fish Laboratory
identified fish preserved during YOY Colorado syuawfish sampling. Bob Muth, Tim Modde, and
Bruce Haines provided comments on an earlier version of this report. Frank Pfeifer and Cheryl
Harris provided administrative support to the senior author.
Cover drawings of the endangered fishes by Doris Rust. The Recovery Program is a joint effort of the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Western Area Power Administration, states of
Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, Upper Basin water users, and environmental organizations.
vi
