11 <br />• respectively. <br />Organisms on soft bottoms were sampled with a 6-inch <br />Ekman dredge mounted on a 6-foot-long, 3/4-inch-diameter metal rod.. <br />Sixteen and 36 samples were collected with the dredge in 1964 and 1965 <br />respectively. Several-small dippers and a hand screen of 1/16-inch- <br />mesh copper screen were used for qualitative collections (5 in :1964 <br />and 53 in 1965) at supplementary stations and in tributary streams. <br />Drift organisms were sampled with a conical nylon-mesh net (Nitex <br />423 material) mounted on a hoop 1171/2 inches in diameter. . Seventy- <br />three and 321 drift samples were collected in 1964 and 1965, respec- <br />tively. Drift sanipl1ing` irr the `Yat?tpa River was carried out on the - Echo <br />Park schedule during the summer of 1965. Location and year of all <br />samples taken are given in Appendix A.
