Therefore, I recommend that the duration of flows in <br />the Green River be managed to maintain floodplain connection to the river for up to one <br />month following peak: flows to allow larval razorback sucker larvae access to floodplain <br />habitat during the time period they are present in the Middle Green River during those <br />years in which the Green and Yampa Rivers exhibit flows equal or less than 50% <br />exceedance. <br /> <br />3. Because both the inlet and outlet to Old Charley Wash has screening capability, during <br />low flow years when the wetland is not connected to the Green River (approximately one <br />in three years), this site can be used as a grow-out facility for fish intended to be stocked <br />in the fall. Hatchery fish would benefit from high prey densities; In addition, access to a <br />natural wetland would acclimate fish to water quality, natural food sources and minimal <br />predation (avian). <br /> <br />48 <br />
