Regarding the use of <br />endangered fish, 60% of all respondents felt the fish should be managed to benefit humans. <br />Over half (51 %) disagreed with the statement "Given the economic problems facing our <br />country, it makes little sense to spend money on programs to help save endangered fish," Two <br />thirds (66%) disagreed that endangered fish should not be recovered unless there is a direct <br />benefit to humans, <br /> <br />Nearly all (94%) believed that endangered fish have a right to live in the Upper Colorado River <br />Basin if they are capable of surviving, and three-quarters (75%) considered the rights of <br />endangered fish to be important. Equally as many (76%) felt it is important to have self- <br />sustaining populations of endangered fish, About two-thirds (65%) believed that future <br />generations should have an abundance of currently endangered fish, <br /> <br />Table 4.
