We recommend that consistent sampling be conducted within designated sampling reaches within
each of the 5 subreaches. Specific sampling reaches associated with each subreach are presented in
Table 36. These specific reaches will be sampled with similar efforts during each field trip in 1991.

2. We recommend increased water quality sampling in 1991. Additional water quality parameters
that should be assessed include sulfates, aluminum, silver, cadmium and radio nucleotides.

3. In addition to the three normally scheduled field trips for 1991, an additional trip should be
conducted to assess habitat parameters during flows and temperatures that are normally associated
with spawning activities for Colorado squawfish.

4. We recommend additional macroinvertebrate sampling in 1991 to include more habitat specific
sampling, particularly in nursery areas where macroinvertebrates provide an important food source
for larval and juvenile fish.

21
