<br />~ . <br /> <br />Little can be concluded from the capture of two possible bony tail from <br /> <br />Ca ta ract Canyon. <br />infrequently that <br />distribution. The <br />Cataract indicates <br />Green Ri ver. <br /> <br />This rarest of the endangered fishes is caught so <br />little is known of its habitat needs and current <br />absence of adult roundtail chub from collections in <br />similarities with the Gila complex in reaches of the <br /> <br />This study has indicated that Cataract Canyon and the lower Green River <br />may be important regions in the upper Colorado River basin for the Colorado <br />squawfish, humpback chub, and bony tail and warrant further investigations. <br />The high density of yay squawfish in the lower Green and the moderate levels <br />observed in Cataract Canyon suggest that both of these areas may be <br />important nurseries for young hatched in the lower regions of the basin. <br />The presence of adul t and yay humpback chub in the region suggest that it <br />may support a viable population of these fish. <br /> <br />14 <br />
