Revised Summary Tables of Recovery Goals

Enclosed are summary tables of recovery goals for the four endangered Colorado River
fishes, with revisions to the humpback chub and Colorado pikeminnow. These revisions reflect
comments and recommendations provided by the Biology Committee during the meeting of April
3,2000, at the Hampton Inn in Denver, Colorado. The Biology Committee did not address the
razorback sucker and bonytail at that meeting.

These summary tables are being provided to the Management Committee for discussion
and recommendations at the meeting scheduled for April 7 in Denver. This meeting will focus
on "policy" issues contained in the humpback chub and Colorado pikeminnow recovery goals.
Dr. Ron Ryel and I will attend the meeting to present the recovery goals summaries, to take
comments or recommendations, and to answer questions.

For the information of the Management Committee, I have also provided summary tables
for razorback sucker and bonytail, which will be discussed at a future meeting. These summaries
include, for each species, a list of "site-specific management actions to achieve recovery", and
"objective, measurable recovery critera". These two elements are identified in Section 4 of the
ESA as the major items to address for recovery. The language provided in these summaries will
be used directly in the SWCA reports to the Recovery Program.

The focus of the discussion is on the humpback chub and Colorado pikeminnow, since
these reports are currently out for review. Reports for the razorback sucker and the bonytail will
be issued April 4 and April 15, respectively.
