13810 N. 1 15th Street
Longmont, CO 80501
(303) 651-2514
October 26, 1995
Jim Rubingh
Colorado Department of Agriculture
700 Kipling St. Suite 4000
Lakewood, Colorado
Dear Jim;
Enclosed is our latest report regarding Contract 95-0021. Please be advised that it is incomplete
and contains representations of final work products. All aspects of the project are in process;
however, responses from county oi~ces regarding parcel maps have significantly slowed down
our progress.
The identification of private landowner and commercial aquaculture impacts have been
completed. Mitigation recommendations have also been completed. All pond owners adjacent to
the Gunnison River from Austin to below the Escalante State Wildlife Area have been completed
and finalized. This area comprises everything in Delta County required for this effort. We
anticipate receiving the parcel maps for Mesa County yet today. The only county employee
capable of compiling these maps for us took a 1 week leave in the middle of securing them. The
parcel maps were supposed to be here a week ago. We will progress very fast once we have the
parcel maps to identify ponds that were located. Our difficulty in locating aerial photos of
Garfield County continues to cause delays in identifying pond owners from Rifle to Palisade. We
located some photos today so things are looking up. While we are working on this problem we
have secured the parcel maps for all land along the river in Garfield County.
We anticipate providing for you and the other project participants updates as we progress over
the next 4 weeks. Final work products for pond locations will be photograph quality color or
black and white copies of available aerials. Each photo will highlight the specific pond location,
code, and identify the pond owners. Additionally, a list of pondowners will be provided that also
identifies the responses to the questionnaire and results of our limited ground truthing that will be
conducted.

6~ueen of the River Fish Co., Inc./Aquatic Services
