<br />~ <br /> <br />1-2 <br /> <br />Hydro No.1 License Application dated October 1983. The deficiencies cited <br />and briefly discussed in Exhibit E of the FERC response are as follows: <br />1. A description of threatened and endangered species in the project <br />area. Any larval fish studies to determine the occurrence of threatened and <br />endangered species should be coordinated with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife <br />Service. <br />2. A description of impacts to threatened and endangered species that <br />would result from project operation. <br />3. A description of proposed mitigative measures to minimize project- <br />related impacts to threatened and endangered species, including: (i) <br />functional design drawings of any fish passage facilities; (ii) a <br />description of operating and maintenance procedures; (iii) a construction <br />schedule for any proposed facilities; (iv) an estimate of the costs of <br />construction, operation, and maintenance; (v) a drawing showing the location <br />of any proposed facilities. <br />This document addresses items 1 and 2 above. It was prepared to <br />respond to the specific questions and information requirements developed for <br />the project by the USFWS Endangered Species Team (Office of Endangered <br />Species) offices in Salt Lake City, Utah and Grand Junction, Colorado and <br />reflected in the FERC application. This document was prepared exclusively <br />by Ecosystem Research Institute (ERI) for Eric R. Jacobson. <br /> <br />1.2 Objectives <br />The objectives of this investigation are to : <br />1. Document the presence or absence of state and federal threatened and <br />endangered as well as game fishes in the Colorado River in the vicinity of <br />the proposed hydro-electric project. <br />2.
