SITE 13 (RM 258.3)

Site 13 was a downstream chute channel located in the Ouray Wildlife Refuge (RM 258.3). This
backwater had an area of 880 m2 with a maximum depth of 5.2 ft. By February 4, average surface ice of
0.6 ft had reduced the area of suitable habitat to 650 m2. On February 25, flow through on section of the
habitat had reduced the area of the backwater to 250 m2. Despite substantial changes to this habitat
throughout the winter in was still considered suitable habitat.
