Brief Project Description: We will remove Russian olive and Tamarisk from several neighboring
sites along the South Platte River (approx. 677 acres). The sites include both private land and
Wetland Reserve Program areas. The aquatic wildlife will be quantifiably sampled each year for
seven years to assess the impact of the TRO removal. Other wildlife will be observed to see
how they are affected and we may alter our methods if we can find ways to increase wildlife
benefits. We will create a presentation to take to local fairs and shows to promote TRO removal
among local landowners and to demonstrate proper methods and results.
