MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />Dear Landowner: <br />From time to time the Platte River Recovery Implementation Program employees <br />approach people like yourself expressing an interest in your land. Often they are invited <br />by the tandowner, at other times they are looking for land to fill a particular need. <br />To avoid any misunderstanding in either of the above events, we urge you to <br />read this Memorandum of Understanding and request that you sign a copy and keep a <br />copy for your fites. <br />1. When the Platte River Recovery Implementation Program starts to investigate <br />a tract of land an employee will approach you reauestina vour perm,ission in writina (this <br />memo is that request) to inspect the tract. This inspection will be made to determine its <br />value from a wildlife and land resource standpoint. <br />2. If the tract has the wildlife and land resource quality and quantity that meet our <br />needs the staff will make recommendations to the Platte River Recovery <br />Implementation Program Executive Director. The Platte River Recovery Implementation <br />Program Govemance Committee and the Executive Director will then make a decision <br />as to whether or not this tract would be suitable for further consideration. . <br />3. If the tract appears to fit known criteria and appears to fulfill needs of the <br />program the landowner is again approached for permission to appraise the tract. <br />4. Following an appraisal, negotiations may begin between the program and the <br />owner(s) of record for the appraised tract. <br />5. Shou/d a muiuallv aareed amount be reached on the tract an oution is <br />drawn up in writinq in which the landowner offers to sell to the Platte River Recovery <br />Implementation Program or their assignee, a certain tract of land for a stipulated price, <br />on or before a stated date. <br />AT TH/S PO/NT: NE/THER PLATTE RNER RECOVERY /MPLEMENTATION <br />PROGRAM NOR /TS PERSONNEL ARE OBLIGATED TO PROCEED <br />FURTHER. <br />YOU DO NOT HAVE A CONTRACT, <br />YOU HAVE NOT SOLD YOUR LAND. <br />PLATTE R1VER RECOVERY IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM HAS NOT <br />AGREED TO PURCHASE YOUR LAND.
