$6 per cubic yard - Used at sites with difficult <br />construction such as restricted access in US Forest <br />Service land, borrow areas not obvious, access over poor <br />roads, or in high cost areas (e.g. Aspen). <br />Rip rap was assumed to be $20 per cubic yard because most sites are <br />in areas with rock in the immediate vicinity. <br />The outlet pipe cost is the price of the particular size pipe <br />doubled. The control gates are not a significant cost and are <br />estimated to the nearest $5000. <br />The cost per cubic yard to excavate the spillway, if needed, is <br />assumed to be half the cost of material placement. Concrete in the <br />cutoff wall is $300 per cubic yard. <br />A toe drain is included at nearly every site, which will consist of <br />a 5 foot deep,. 2 foot wide trench ( 0.27 cubic yards per linear <br />foot) filled with ASTM C-33 sand. A drain pipe with 1/16th inch <br />slotted is placed in the sand to convey water from the trench to a <br />surface channel. The sand is estimated at $30 per cubic yard <br />delivered, the pipe is $1.50 per foot, and the placement cost is <br />estimated to be $20 per cubic yard. The composite total of the <br />costs is $20 per linear foot of toe drain. <br />The above items are totaled to determine the estimated construction <br />cost for each dam site. <br />Financing <br />The total construction cost <br />several different financing <br />terms (as of December, 1993) <br />20 years were evaluated for <br />rates change according to <br />incorporated herein. <br />for each dam site is evaluated using <br />options.
