CARPENTAR AND MITCHELL DITCH COMPANY <br />DITCH REHABILITATION <br />Proiect Description <br />The Carpenter Mitchell Ditch Company manages the Carpenter Mitchell Ditch for its members that own <br />water rights and land served by the Ditch. The existing ditch system was comprised of an open, grass-lined <br />channel, approximately 2.5 miles in length, with a carrying capacity of 11.3 cfs, serving an area of 460 <br />acres. This project involved the construction of a new intake structure on Chicken Creek, enclosing the <br />existing ditch with 8-21 inch PVC pipe, and metered turnouts. The project was designed by Natural <br />Resource Conservation Service (MRCS) Cortez Office and commenced construction in November of 2006. <br />The final construction cost was $587,712, which was reduced to a final loan balance of $172,333, upon <br />receiving NRCS's project payment of $415,379. <br />Proiect Data <br />Sponsor: Carpenter Mitchell Ditch Co.
