<br />Typical Pump House <br /> <br />Proiect Description <br />The Town of Akron provides domestic water to 1,711 residents with approximately 880 taps. <br />Ten existing wells feed into a 1.5 million gallon above ground storage tank, constructed in 1996, for <br />treatment and distribution. All of these existing wells were low producing and of poor water <br />quality, making it difficult for the town to meet demands and EPA drinking standards. This project <br />involved the drilling of two additional wells (the Hoyer and Thomas/Kusel Wells) and the <br />installation of 11,000-feet of 12-inch ductile iron pipe to deliver the water to the town's reservoir <br />for treatment.
