In summary: Mike Shimmin: Meeting of October 29: Most of
meeting devoted to Vision Statement/Goals and Strategies that were
discussed at last South Platte meeting. CWCB showed slides that
showed SWASI study out to 2050. State demographer not yet out to
2050. Ran model for projections. Gap expands exponentially by 2050 per
model. Discussion began to focus on quantitative significance of water
quantitative shortage we are all facing and this discussion began to
generate consensus; consensus turned to need for strategies to meet this
gap: 1),kN-ater conservation; 2) alternatives to ag dryup; 3) ``fully
developing our compact allocations.' Consensus began to congeal by
afternoon. Need studies for informed choices, all agreed. Although
discussion of vision statement was vague, consensus was reached in
terms of adopting the vision statement without the word "sustainable."
Eric Wilkinson: Agrees with Mike's statements. Group actually listened
to info presented by staff of CWCB; looking at projections in 2030 and
2050, presented in such away that dampened mistrust. Staff had data that
showed: 25% decrease in per capita demand water conservation; 10%
due to increase density; 5% in increase in climate change. M&I demand
on per capita demand: lawn water use and temperature increase. Report
