DWR and CWCB Flood Hardening of Existing Stream Gages Page 4 This technology provides for more rapid, safer, and often more accura te measurement of stream flow. DWR is employing this technology to help verify and extend the middle and upper ranges of the stage- relationship at key gages. discharge FY08 Accomplishments The CWCB provided $350,000 in FY2007-08 for sate llite telemetry equipment upgrade and replacement, flood hardening of stream gages, and stream gage refurbishment. High Data Rate DCP Upgrade Program. Of the funds allocated, $245,000 were expended on the procurement and installation of new ge neration, high data rate, satellite- linked monitoring equipment. The high data rate upgrade program began in 2001. To date, 357 sate llite monitoring ga ges throughout Colorado, about 80% of the current total syst em, have been upgraded from 100 baud to 300 baud transmission speed. Upgrades also include new generat ion data collection platforms with on-board data logging, new stage measurement equipment, ancill ary telemetry support equipment, and gage station grounding equipment. Streamgage Refurbishment. Of the FY07-08 funds, $55,000 along with carryover funds from the previous fiscal year were used on refurbishm ent of existing stream gages throug hout the State. Refurbishment projects were completed at the fo llowing stream gages in FY 2007-08. Several of these projects were initiated in FY08, but not complet ed, and will carry over into FY09 for completion (these are marked with an asterisk).
