<br />THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT THE CONSTRUCTION AREA FOR THE PRESENCE OF
<br />UTILITY FACILITIES, BOTH SURFACE AND SUBSURFACE. THE CONTRACTOR IS
<br />RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING THE UTILITY NOTIFICATION CENTER OF COLORADO (UNCC)
<br />BY CAWNG 811 OR 1-800-922-1987 FOR THE PURPOSE OF LOCATING ANY
<br />UNDERGROUND UTILITIES, AT LEAST TWO FULL WORKING GAYS PRIOR TO ANY
<br />EXCAVATION. REFER TO THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SPECIAL
<br />REQUIREMENTS FOR WORKING WffHIN THE AREA OF THE EXISTING GAS PIPEUNE AS

<br />ALL STATIONING IS CENTERLINE STATIONING AND IS MEASURED HORIZONTAL DISTANCE
<br />LOCATION OF NEW PIPELINE SHOWN IS APPROXIMATE, BASED ON AVAILABLE SURVEY
<br />DATA. IF EXISTING CONDITIONS IN THE FIELD ARE SIGNIFlCANTLY DIFFERENT THAN
<br />THOSE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, THE PIPELINE ELEVATIONS AND GRADES SHALL BE
<br />CHANGED IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN MINIMUM PIPE COVER OR MINIMUM SLOPES. ALL
<br />CHANGES SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER. PIPELINE INVERT ELEVATIONS
<br />SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS ARE CALCULATED USING NOMINAL PIPE DIAMETERS. SMALL
<br />ADJUSTMENTS IN PIPELINE ALIGNMENT MAY BE MADE FOR PROPER FIT OF PIPE JOINTS
<br />AND APPURTENANCES.
<br />ALl EXCAVATION SHALL MEET OSHA REGULATIONS.
<br />THRUST BLOCKS SHALL BE INSTALLED AT ALL ABRUPT CHANGES IN GRADE OR
<br />ALIGNMENT.
<br />AI.L EXPOSED PVC MATERIAL SHALL BE CLEANED AND PAINTED WITH 2 COATS EXTERIO
<br />ACRYLIC LATEX PAINT.
<br />MINIMUM COVER OVER THE TOP OF ALL PIPELINES SHALL BE 30". NO ROCK GREATER
<br />THAN 1 INCH SHALL BE PLACED WITHIN 6 INCHES OF THE PIPE AND NO ROCKS
<br />GREATER THAN 3 INCHES IN THE REMAINING FILL UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN.
<br />FOR GASKEiED PIPE, BENDS LESS THAN 11.25' AND MINOR ADJUSTMENTS THAT NEED
<br />TO BE MADE IN THE ALIGNMENT DF THE PIPELINE MAY BE MADE BY DEFLECTING THE
<br />PIPE JOINTS OR BY PROVIDING. CUSTOM-FABRICATED ELBOWS. THE DEFLECTION OF
<br />EACH JOINT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE PIPE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS NOR
<br />SHALL IT EXCEED A MAXIMUM OF ONE (1) pEGREE OF DEFLECTION PER PIPE JOINT (1
<br />DEGREE OF DEFLECTION EQUALS APPROXIMATELY 4 INCHES OF LATERAL DEFLECTION
<br />PER 20 FOOT LENGTH OF PIPE).
<br />WHERE GRANULAR PIPE BACKFILL IS NOT ALREADY CALLED FOR AND A WATER TABLE
<br />EXISTS, SELECT GRANULAR BEDDING, HAUNCHING, AND INITIAL BACKFILL SHALL BE
<br />INSTALLED. THE GRANULAR MATERIAL SHALL HAVE A MAXIMUM SIZE OF 1 INCH AND A
<br />MAXIMUM OF 159: PASSING THE #200 SIEVE. IF EXCESSIVE WATER IS WITHIN THE
<br />TRENCH, IT MAY NEED TO BE DEWATERED TO PLACE THE PIPE. PIPE JOINTS AND
<br />GASKETS SHALL BE KEPT CLEAN AND FREE FROM SOIL, MUD, AND DEBRIS.
<br />ALL INLINE RISERS, VALVE STEMS, AIR VENTS, AND OTHER APPURTENANCES ALONG THE
<br />PIPELINES SHALL BE PROTECTED WITH A GUARD RAIL AND/OR POST ASSEMBLY. REFER
<br />TO DETAILS IN THE DRAWINGS.
<br />STRUCTURAL NOTES:
<br />ALL EXPOSED CONCRETE EDGES SHALL BE CHAMFERED ~'+" UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN
<br />OR NOTED IN THE STRUCTURAL DETAILS.
<br />MINIMUM BAR COVER SHOWN IS THE CLEAR DISTANCE BETWEEN THE SURFACE OF THE
<br />BAR AND THE FACE OF THE CONCRETE AND, UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN, IS 2" FOR
<br />FORMED AND TOP SURFACES AND 3" FOR SURFACES POURED AGAINST EARTH.
