As development continues below the reservoir, the exchanges
at the Boulder headgate will be further reduced, causing further delivery problems for the
Company. This alternative is not a viable option for the Company.
Alternative 2- Developing an internal exchange: The Company considered developing an internal
exchange of water between its own users. This option did not allow the flexibility to deliver water
to shareholders nor did it address accessing the 2,600 AF at the bottom of Panama Reservoir.
Alternative 3 -Pump Station: This option supplies water to the Company's North Branch Ditch
and the Upper Lateral Ditch, both located upstream of Panama Reservoir. The project consists of
three main components including a pump station with a reservoir intake pipe, and two separate
pipelines to supply the irrigation ditches.
Selected Alternative: The Company has chosen Alternative 3:
The pump station and reservoir water intake system will be located along the northern edge of
Panama Reservoir. The pump station supply system will consist of a concrete intake structure with
three intake screens and a 300-foot 36-inch reinforced concrete pipe from the intake structure to the
pump station wet well. Four pumps will extend into the wet well below the pump room. Two
pumps will be dedicated to the Company's North Branch Ditch pipeline and two pumps will be
dedicated to its Upper Lateral pipeline.
