North Platte Basin Roundtable Meeting Minutes, 08.26.08 2 <br />If the credits don't go to recharge, then they go to agriculture. Some of the credits from <br />Heyborne might go to M&I <br />The project benefits are to local fish species as well. <br />Heyborne project: <br />Many partners, LSPWCD will hold the water right, which would save on engineering and <br />legal costs <br />Filed for 10cfs on a 2008 date. <br />This project was able to put 8 wells that were thought not to be part of the alluvial <br />aquifer, 20% of the credits will make sure that these wells go back into production, and <br />instead of paying cash for the recharge, the ag users will do maintenance. <br />NAWCA match money will be used also. <br />Diversity of partnerships is important for the NAWCA grant. <br />55% of the match comes from the value of conservation easements <br />Greg concluded his presentation <br />Debbie A: what is the direct benefit to our basin? <br />Greg K: the SPWRAP recharge, since the North Platte is a member of SPWRAP <br />Support Letter Discussion: <br />The only reservation expressed by the voting members present was that our Basin has <br />three potential competitors with this application at the September CWCB meeting. Also, <br />since there is not a quorum of voting members at the meeting, the roundtable cannot take <br />official action on this issue. <br />There might be a special meeting called to decide on this issue. <br />Debbie A will speak with Kent Crowder about possibly calling a special meeting to vote <br />on the issue. <br />Meeting adjourned <br />Next Meeting: September 23, 2008, 7-9pm
