That goal being the determination of the best method(s) for
making agricultural water available to those in need while attempting to minimize the
effect on the agriculture producer.
The application was presented at our October 14, 2008 meeting of the Alternatives to
Ag Dry Up Subcommittee and was brought before the entire Roundtable membership
later that same day. The subcommittee voted to recommend that the application receive
support from the Roundtable as a whole, which was done, overwhelmingly in the fiill
meeting of the South Platte Basin Roundtable.
The South Platte Basin Roundtable encompasses the largest agriculture production
area in the State of Colorado; therefore effective, efficient, and conscientious transfer of
agricultural water is of utmost importance to our members. On behalf of the South Platte
Basin Roundtable, I would like to thank you for making the grant available and would
like to encourage you to approve the application made by the Colorado Corn Growers.
Thanks Again.
Respectfully submitted,
AM I/a/M
James T.
