Ideally, these three <br />projects will help to sustain ag riculture in an area experienci ng agricultural dry-up, produce <br />water for M&I purposes, and provide water for the environment. <br />Issue/Additional Needs: <br />Please explain how the agricult ural water will be preserved for the long-term. While <br />these projects have the potential to avoid the complete transfer of an agricultural <br />water users rights in the short term, they ma y not avoid the permanent transfer of the <br />CU for municipal/industrial purposes. <br />Please provide a more detailed budget specify ing a description of subtasks and level of <br />effort. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends funding up to $349,650 for the Development of Practical Alternative <br />Agricultural Water Transfer Measures fo r Colorado Irrigated Agriculture Project <br />contingent on resolution of the items in the issues/additional needs se ction. It should be <br />noted that past costs cannot be reimbursed. All products, data and information developed <br />as a result of this grant must be provided to CWCB in hard copy and electronic format as <br />part of the project documentation. <br />3 <br />
