East Larimer County Water District
Landscape Demonstration Garden
Final Report
October 8, 2008
Grant Recipient: East Larimer County Water District
232 S. Link Ln
Fort Collins CO 80524
Contact: Melissa Tremelling, Senior Billing Specialist
(970) 493-2044
melissat(a~elcowater. org
East Larimer County Water District has been working on a Landscape
Demonstration Garden approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board
(CWCB) . This final report is in fulfillment of CWCB's water efficiency grant
program requirements. A summary of the project status and obstacles are
described.
Project Status
The installation of the garden has been completed and all signs have been
installed. Brochures have also been prepared and are available at the site or at
ELCO's office.
nhcta~lec
Installation time frame originally planned for early summer was delayed until
August and was completed by the end of that month. ELCO installed the
signage for the plants at the end of September. The location of the garden
experienced hail after the installation, which damaged some of the plants. Due
to all these factors ELCO decided to delay the open house until early next year.
Summary
ELCO has completed all steps as outlined in Application for Water Efficiency
Grant. ELCO will send out a press release in the local newspapers and will also
have a separate newsletter enclosed in ELCO's customer bills to announce the
garden in the spring of 2009.
Enclosure
