HB 1177 Southwest Basins Water Roundtable- <br />Minutes, Sept. 10, 2008 <br />Chairman Mike Preston called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. <br />Mike asked the members to introduce themselves. Wayne Allard <br />DWR <br />DWR <br />Happy Scenes Water System <br />Happy Scenes Water System <br />Happy Scenes Water System <br />La Plata Archuleta Water District <br />La Plata Archuleta Water District <br />Administrative Reports <br />Review & Approve Minutes <br />The minutes of July 9, 2008 were approved as written. <br />Officers & IBCC Representatives Report <br />Mike asked members to review the distributed email list and make necessary corrections. <br />Steve Harris and John Porter reported that the last IBCC meeting was largely working on the <br />visioning process. <br />IBCC Vision & Strategy Process <br />Mike said there are three key pieces that we need to work on: <br />1. Consumptive Needs assessment <br />2. Non-consumptive Needs assessment <br />3. Statewide Visioning statement <br />These will help formalize our priorities as a Basin. To date, we've written task orders for the <br />state contractor, CDM, but have not had a lot of engagement with them yet. <br />Consumptive Needs assessment: <br />Mike reported the committee will work from SWSI I and determine anything new that needs to <br />be added, and then correlate that with Non-consumptive priorities. It was suggested that we <br />commission another contractor to help in case we can't get CDM to help. <br />Non-consumptive Needs assessment: <br />Chuck Wanner reported that some 180 layers of data has been gathered from different sources, <br />but they don't have "on the ground" input regarding such things as what and when the <br />resources are used for, how much water is needed.
