Roaring Fork stream management plan; 3. Purchase shares in
Vail Ditch; 4. Increase Eagle Park Reservoir by 155 acre feet; 5.
Join with the Yampa-White Roundtable to commission a study
of water needed for energy development; and 6. Join with the
South Platte, Denver Metro, and Arkansas Roundtables to
commission a study of 10825 water. A request to rehabilitate
Bull Creek Reservoirs did not pass (although it was passed by
the CBRT six months later), and a request for funds to build
whitewater river running features at the Price Stubbs Roller Dam
on the Colorado River also did not pass.
1/22/07 The CBRT voted unanimously to send a letter to Governor Bill
Ritter commending Russell George's leadership in the
roundtable process.
6/25/07 The CBRT approved 3 WSRA grant requests for a well study in
Missouri Heights above the Roaring Fork river and to
rehabilitate Bull Creek Reservoirs 4 and 5.
12/17/07 The CBRT approved changes to Amendment 18 that was being
discussed by the CWCB. Amendment 18 would permit the
CWCB to set aside 20% of severance tax Revenue allocated to
the Department of Natural Resources for new water projects.
The CBRT voted to limit the scope that the severance tax
revenues could be used for to the following types of water
projects: "addressing compact calls, drought mitigation,
endangered species, instream flows, river restoration, (and)
recreation."
12/17/07 The CBRT approved four WSRA grant requests for stream flow
management plans on the Colorado River in Grand County and
the Roaring Fork River (both of which the CWCB later objected
to but eventually agreed to fiend), a study to enlarge old Dillon
Reservoir, and a request for a siltation pond to capture silt in the
Fraser River.
5/19/08 The CBRT approved WSRA grant requests to study the
feasibility of building 3 reservoirs in the Thompson Creek
drainage (a tributary of the Crystal River) and to fiend
improvements to Battlement Reservoir to preserve cutthroat trout
habitat. The CWCB approved the Thompson Creek reservoir
study, but requested additional information about the Battlement
reservoir water rights before voting whether to approve it.
9/22/08 The CBRT unanimously voted to oppose Amendment 52, which
is designed to cap severance tax revenues to 1.7% of oil
produced (the current rate) and to divert severance tax revenues
from the Department of Natural Resources to field improvements
on Interstate 70.
d.
