On average, the Borrower’s
Louden Ditch runs about 8,000 AF of water each year.
Project Description
The Borrower is undertaking the Project to meet th e requirements of the State Engineer’s Office
(SEO). Since 2005, the Reservoir has been restricted to gauge height (GH) 10.0 (341 AF of storage)
due to seepage problems. The repairs completed th rough this Project will a llow for full storage to
GH 12.4. This will increase the storage by 150 AF to a total storage of 491 AF and will allow the
Borrower to continue to provide irri gation water to its shareholders.
Approximately 400 feet of the embankment was not repaired with the previous improvements made
in 1993 and 2001. When the Reservoir level is great er than GH 10.0, seepage can be seen along the
downstream toe of this section. For this re ason, the SEO has placed the Reservoir on a fill
restriction. Additionally, the upstr eam face of the dam (in the non -recompacted section) does not
have riprap protection. A portion of that section has also experienced settlement issues. The
Borrower intends to address all of these issues w ith the rehabilitation and bring the Reservoir back
to its full capacity.
