MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE PAMPA-WHITE ROUNDTABLE
HELD IN STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, MAY ?? ZOOS
Chairman, Tom Sharp call the meeting to order. Introductions were made.
The minutes from April 16, 2008 were amended and approved.
Tom Sharp led a discussion of amending the bylaws, replacing seat 4 currently
designated for a Garfield County representative to a Rio Blanco Water Conservancy
District representative. Also, changing the fifth sentence of the first paragraph of Section
2 to "Paragraphs 21 through 27" to include the Green River Basin seat. There was a
motion and a second to make those changes and it passed unanimously.
Paul Strong detailed the seats whose terms had expired. Kent Vertrees was the only
applicant for the Recreation At-Large seat, Forrest Luke was the only applicant for the
Industrial At-Large seat, and T. Wright Dickinson was the only applicant for the Green
River Basin seat. Tonic Folks and Bill Haffner were the only applicants for the non-
voting outside owner seats. A motion and second was made to appoint those five to their
respective seats. Stephen Colby and Philo Shelton had applied for the Local Domestic
Water Provider At-Large seat. A vote was taken and Stephen Colby was elected to that
seat.
--
The applicants for the five At-Large seats were, Mike Camblin, Jeff Comstock, Ren
Martyn, Elizabeth Black, Jon Hill, Bruce Lindahl, Jaclyn Karolewski, Philo Shelton,
Sarah Claasen, Claire Sollars and Christy Belton. The applicants who were present were
given a chance to speak. Voting occurred and Mike Camblin, Jeff Comstock, Jon Hill,
Bruce Lindahl and Ren Martyn were elected to those seats.
A discussion was held regarding the proposal from three East Slope Roundtables for a
j Dint meeting with the West Slope Roundtables. The majority of members favored talking
with the other round tables but concerns were expressed regarding expectations and
format. Tom Sharp suggested a smaller subcommittee similar to what occurred between
the Yampa/White and South Platte Roundtables. A motion was made and seconded that
the Yampa/White Round Table will suggest that each roundtable appoint a subcommittee
to discuss at a meeting with the East Slope Roundtables the issues in their letter.
Additionally, the subcommittees will undertake a "visioning" exercise similar to the
recent IBCC discussions. The motion passed unanimously.
The South Platte Roundtable sent a letter inviting us on a tour of the South Platte basin.
Tom Sharp encouraged Yampa/White members to attend the tour as it is very
educational. Discussion about putting on a tour of the Yampa/ White basin culminated in
a motion to respond favorably to the letter and invite them on a Yampa/White tour. The
motion passed unanimously with Jeff Comstock, Geoff Blakeslee and Kevin McBride to
coordinate the tour.
