RGBRT 5-13-08 <br />Minutes <br />Interbasin Compact Committee Basin Roundtables <br />Rio Grande Inter Basin Roundtable <br />MINUTES <br />May 13, 2008 @ 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. <br />Student Center, Adams State College <br />Attending: Fred Bauder, J.B. Alexander, Lewis H. Entz, Ronald Peterson, Tony Aloia, Steve <br />Vandiver, Bob Robins, Mike Willett, Cindy Clark, Charles Spielman, Rocky White, Ronald <br />Riggenbach, Rick Brown, Judy Lopez, Travis Smith, Ed Nielsen, Rio de la Vista, Erin Minks, <br />Charlotte Bobicki, Steve Sanchez, Matt Hildner, Art Hutchinson, Crishma Gokhale-Welch, Leon <br />Moyer, Allen Brown, Charles Stillings, Ray Wright, Lawrence Gallegos, Sam Vance, Gail Schwartz, <br />Nicole Langley <br />1. Introductions: Steve Vandiver chaired the meeting in the place of Mike Gibson who was <br />away. Steve welcomed Hon. Gail Schwartz, State Senator in District 5 and thanked guests <br />for coming. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of April 8, 2008 - Charles Stillings moved, Charley Spielman <br />seconded, unanimously approved. <br />3. Reappointment of Members - Fred Bauder asked who might take the place of Mel Getz <br />to represent industrial interests. No nomination was made. Steve asked members to come <br />forward with suggestions. Ed Nielsen nominated Steve Sanchez to replace him <br />representing Saguache County. Seconded by Charles Spielman. Unanimous approval. <br />4. Report of IBCC Representatives - Steve Vandiver reported that the next meeting, the first <br />in a long time, would be coming up next Thursday, and that he would report back at the <br />June Roundtable. <br />5. Gunnison Roundtable Communications Committee - They had intended to come but <br />notified they would not be able to attend. <br />6. BLM Oil & Gas Lease Sale - Update - Rio de la Vista - Reported 84 parcels dropped. <br />Judicial decision. For how long? We don't know. Maybe until August. Rio Grande <br />Interbasin Roundtable most advanced in dealing with this kind of issue. <br />7. Education Sub Committee - Update - Judy Lopez - Perry ?? of IBCC asked if we <br />would like to have a town meeting. Talked about it with Perry and Jeff ????. Considered <br />what they were trying to accomplish. Judy informed them we already do a lot of public <br />outreach through our various entities and public being invited to attend. Why would we do a <br />separate town meeting? Jeff suggested could do fliers or brochures about SB-179 funding. <br />Our meetings are always well published.
