(Company) ow ns and operates six storage reser voirs in Larimer and Weld Counties
including Big Windosr Reservoir (Reservoir). As a result of SEO safety requirements, the Reservoir
is being rehabilitated with dam crest maintena nce and a spillway extension. Currently, the
embankment has low spots; therefor e, the crest is being raised and leveled. In addi tion, the spillway
discharges across farm land not owned by the Comp any. For that reason, the spillway is being
reconstructed at a new location to divert flow away from privat e farm land back to the natural
drainage. This improvement will better protect the land adjacent to the Reservoir. Construction
began in August of 2008 and is expected to be complete by the end of 2008.
Big Windsor
Reservoir
Fort Collins
Location Map
