These strategies will be evaluated by examining the opportunities, challenges, and trade-offs <br />associated with each strategy or combination of strategies and by examining "what-if" scenarios. <br />The steps for evaluating water supply strategies are illustrated in the following figure. <br />Demand and Supply Side Strategies <br />• Execute technical workforeachstrategy <br />• Examine abilityto meet Colorado's <br />consumptive and nonconsumptive needs <br />• Examine risks <br />• Examine potential impacts of climate change <br />• Incorporateanalysisfrompreviousand <br />ongoing studies <br />Examine "What If" <br />Scenarios <br />Examine "tradeoffs" <br />between strategies <br />Identify multi purpose <br />projects or ways to integrate <br />consumptive and <br />nonconsumptive needs <br />we began this evaluation at the August IBCC meeting by f ocusing on three key water supply <br />strategies: <br />^ M&I Conservation <br />^ Agricultural Water Transfers <br />^ Compact Development and Transbasin Diversions <br />Action Item <br />During the August IBCC meeting, members discussed policy issues and addition <br />technical work associated with M&I Conservation, Agricultural Water Transfers, and <br />Compact Development and Transbasin Diversions. Discussion material for the <br />evaluation of these strategies is included below. <br />Additional strategies will be discussed in future meetings. <br />
