The shareholders of the FPCC have the ability to divert 140.4 cfs
from the South Platte River under their original irrigation
rights decreed November 15, 1894. These rights have two separate
appropriations; September 17, 1873 for 14.4 cfs and June 22, 1882
for 126.0 cfs. The FPCC and its shareholders also have numerous
other decrees relating to recharge, augmentation and storage
water out of Prewitt Reservoir.

As mentioned before, the FPCC has had an average annual diversion
of 27,260 acre feet for all water diverted into the Pawnee ditch.
Yearly diversions for the FPCC would be considered fairly
inconsistent. variations in these numbers correspond to the
amount of rainfall during the irrigation season and overall
demand for recharge water. More rainfall in a certain year meant
that less water had to be diverted for irrigation that year and
vice versa.

Cost Estimate

The estimated total project cost is $250,000. Project planning
and engineering design will be provided by Nation Engineering
Services, LLC.
