15.0 ECONOMIC ANALYSIS
The selected alternative is technically and financially feasible. There are no significant roadblocks
which would keep the Ogilvy Augmentation Company from successfully completing this project.
The following summary provides a breakdown of the unit costs for the project.
Total Project Cost:
Total Cost Per Well:
Cost Per Well Per Year:
Cost Per Acre Irrigated:
Cost Per Acre Irrigated Per Year:
$ 47,766 x 30 years + $ 111,085 = $1,544,065
$1,544,065 - 17 wells = $90,827
$1,544,065 _ 17 wells _ 30 years = $3,027.58
$1,544,065 = 1,400 acres = $1,102.90
$1,544,065 - 1,400 acres _ 30 years = $36.76
16.0 SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL IMPACTS
The project will have no significant social impacts, since it will assure the continued operation of 17
irrigation wells within the service area, resulting in the continuation of historical agricultural
operations. The project will have minor physical impacts as the proposed reservoir will occupy
approximately 10 acres of land historically utilized as non-irrigated pasture ground. No farm or
pasture land will be removed for the recharge reservoir development, and it will therefore have no
impacts.
17.0 CONCLUSION
1. The OAC is an incorporated entity in the State of Colorado with the ability to enter into a
contract with the CWCB for the purpose of obtaining a Construction Fund loan.
2. The project will provide augmentation water rights, reservoir storage and measurement
and instrumentation equipment necessary to obtain and operate a permanent plan for
augmentation needed to allow un-curtailed pumping of irrigation wells within the OAC.
3. The total estimated cost of the project is $1,110,850 and this will be financed, in part, by
OAC and from the CWCB Construction Fund.
4. The project is technically and financially feasible.
Feasibility Study of the Ogilvy Augmentation Company
Well Augmentation Project
Page 23
