LITTLE THOMPSON WATER DISTRICT
DRY CREEK RESERVOIR PROJECT

1- ~__

Dry Creek Reservoir Dam Embankment and Spillway

Proiect Description

The Little Thompson Water District (L TWD) and the Central Weld County Water District (CWCWD) have
completed the construction of the 9,600 acre-foot Dry Creek Reservoir, at a 50/50 cost share. L TWD and
CWCWD jointly own the Carter Lake Filter Plant that treats Colorado Big Thompson (CBT) water at Carter
Lake, which prior to the construction of the new reservoir, had no storage capabilities. In wet years both
Districts were unable to treat and store all the water they were entitled to. Therefore in dry years with no
available storage, the Districts were forced to meet their demands for water from outside sources. In
addition, any maintenance to Carter Lake or the Saint Vrain Supply Canal would interrupt the operation of
the Filter Plant. To address the Districts storage concerns, this project involved the construction of 9,600
acre-foot reservoir, with a pump station from the reservoir to the filter plant.

Proiect Data

Sponsor: Little Thompson Water District

County: Larimer

Water Source: CBT

Terms of Loan: $3,937,500@4.05%, 20-years Substantial Completion Date: October 1,2007
$4,994,955@3.60%, 20-years

Engineer: Boyle Engineering Corporation - Lakewood, CO

Construction Contractor: R.E.
