• CENTRAL WELD COUNTY WATER DISTRICT
DRY CREEK RESERVOIR
Cry"".gA &O ..+ }7 ,sp Y fir'"` .\• a .T'rS/...
Completed Dam Embankment and RCC Spillway
Project Description
This project involved the construction of a new 9,000 acre-foot reservoir, located approximately 3
miles southeast of the Town of Berthoud, Colorado. The project was a mutual endeavor between
• the Little Thompson Water District and the Central Weld County Water District. The two
District's water supply is solely from Carter Lake, and prior to the construction of Dry Creek,it was
the only storage available on their systems. This resulted in the District's inability to store their full
water right in wet years and left them short of water in drought years. The new 9,000 acre-foot
reservoir, with a dam length of 4,820-feet at a height of 55-feet, allows the District's to gravity fill
the reservoir from Carter Lake and then pump back to the Carter Lake Filter Plant when there is a
need.
Project Data
Sponsor: Central Weld County Water District County: Larimer Water Source: CBT
Terms of Loan: $4,994,955@3.70% for 20 yrs.
