Late spring
The Romero Irrigation Company bank rectification project began in the spring of 2008.
It had been planned to repair channel changes that might allow flooding of the town of
Guadalupe and cause damage to the ditch company facilities. In preparation for the
project the ditch company had the NRCS design a riverbank and fish habitat plan. The
area had quite a severe winter that delayed the project somewhat. Robins Construction
began working with frost still in the ground which required extra work; however, high
water was expected on the river and it was necessary to try and complete the work as
soon as possible. Previous to the actual work on the river, headgates had been completed
and rock hauled.
