Water Supply Reserve Account - Grant Application Form
Form Revised May 2007
7. Please provide a brief narrative of any related or relevant previous studies.
"Town of Yampa Evaluation of Existing Municipal Water Facilities"
April 1991. This document's outline included the Following:
I. General (population, economics)
II. Town of Yampa (legal status)
III. Land Population and Climate
IV. Existing Water System
A. General Description
B. Water Quality
C. Water Rights
D. Present Water Consumption
E. Individual System Components
F. Fire Protection Equipment
G. Operation and Maintenance
V. Water System Rehabilitation and Improvements
A. Future Water Demand
B. Water System Deficiencies & Capabilities
C. Recommended System Improvements
VI. Future Water System Projects
VII. Economic Evaluation
Several of the projects suggested by this study were completed with
the exception of a treated water storage tank. The proposal here
will be to use the same outline as above but focus on sections IV. C,
E with respect to drought and growth pressures, section V. with
respect to treated water storage construction including sighting,
design, and construction costs, and section VII with regards to
financing long term operation and maintenance of the water system.
The 1997 "Town of Yampa Master Plan" is primarily a community
planning document. It recognizes the need for treated water storage
capacity.
2001 Pro bono report by Civil Design Consultants (attached) provided
conceptual level tank sighting and construction estimates. This
proposal is to take that to design and construction.
10
