Water Supply Reserve Account -Grant Application Form
Form Revised May 2007
What is the purpose of this grant application?
Environmental compliance and feasibility study
Technical Assistance regarding permitting, feasibility studies, and environmental compliance
xxx Studies or analysis of structural, nonstructural, consumptive, nonconsumptive water needs, projects
Study or Analysis of:
Structural project or activity
Nonstructural project or activity
xx
Consumptive project or activity
Nonconsumptive projector activity
Structural andl or nonstructural water proj ect or activity
2. Describe how the water activity meets these Threshold Criteria.
1. The water activity meets the eligibility requirements outlined in Part 2 of the Criteria and
Guidelines.
This water activity is developed to support North Platte Roundtable efforts to better document and define
consumptive use of irrigation water applied to hay meadows in North Park. Studies of consumptive water uses
are eligible for consideration. Water that is used by vegetation (evaportranspiration - ET) is fully consumptive,
therefore better knowledge of ET is a critical component of assessing current and future water needs. Historically,
there have been few documented studies of evapotranspiration in the North Platte hay meadow environment.
Because of the unique weather conditions experienced in North Park -- strong winds, low humidity, high solar
energy - it is uncertain how well data collected on evapotranspiration from other areas of the Rocky Mountains
applies here.
4
