The West Divide Water Conservancy District is a subdivision of the State of Colorado and
meets the eligibility requirements of the Account as a government. The District was formed in
1964 for the purposes of conserving and developing water resources within its boundaries.
The District currently supplies physical and legal water supplies to over 400 customers
situated along the Colorado River corridor from the Town of DeBeque to the City of
Glenwood Springs, in the Roaring Fork River watershed between Glenwood and Carbondale,
and in the Crystal River watershed. The District boundaries include portions of Garfield,
Pitkin and Mesa counties.
Supporters of the project include Jason and Jamye Sewell, who are the owners of agricultural
land within the Crystal River watershed. The proposed water storage sites that are the subject
of this application are located on the Sewell's Property.
The Colorado River Water Conservation District is also a supporter of the project.
