Bill Trampe - Our vision statement is wrong if we can't flat do this with limited resource.
Agriculture is going out the window - let's face it and let's be straight with people. What frustrates
me is that we aren't being straight with people.
Kathleen Curry - How do we define the status quo? I am on the record that I am not in general
agreement with the preamble and the vision statement and therefore the IBCC does not have
consensus. We shouldn't constrain free market.
Alex Davis - A question is how much is the west slope willing to give to preserve agriculture on the
Front Range? The default decision hasn't been made?
There were several answers of no in response to whether the west slope would be willing to give
water to the Front Range to preserve agriculture.
Jeff Devere - We need to think outside of the box. Colorado should consider paying for desalination
in California so we don't have to send water downstream.
Eric Kuhn - We have one meeting left and this has been a great discussion and we may need two
meetings? May need an October and November meeting?
Jay Winner - Asked the group that in two years where have we gotten if we can't even agree on a
vision statement?
Harris Sherman - We are getting down to some very tough issues and he heard general consensus
on some issues today. If the IBCC can come to a collective consensus on some of these issues that
can be provided to the legislature and other decision makers it will be very helpful. I think we have
gotten a bit further than some may think.
Next Steps
The IBCC agreed to hold an extra meeting between now and the end of the year. Eric Hecox will
distribute dates.
In addition the draft vision, preamble, and goals will be provided to the roundtables as a working
draft.
