IBCC Colorado River Basin <br />Minutes of Meeting on July 28, 2008 <br />1. Next Meeting: Monday, August 25, Glenwood Springs Community Recreation Center, <br />1:00 to 4:00. <br />2. Approve May 2008 meeting minutes. The minutes were approved unanimously. <br />3. Reporter: These minutes were prepared by Ken Neubecker, 970-376-1918, <br />eaQleriver ~ ,sopris.net, with apologies for the lack of the accustomed thoroughness to Ken <br />Ransford and the rest of the Roundtable.. . <br />4. Introductions: <br />5. Upcoming meetings: <br />a. October 8-10: Governor's conference for water providers and muiucipalities on how to <br />prepare for drought and how to incorporate climate change into drought plamling, at the <br />Grand Hyatt Hotel in Denver. The cost is $100, which pays for both breakfast and lunch. <br />The Governor is scheduled to open the conference on Wednesday October 8. <br />6. Report from IBCC - No meeting was held since the last one reported to the Roundtable in May. <br />Boyle Engineering is continuing to conduct their study of water availability left in the Colorado <br />River Compact. <br />The "Vision" process is continuing with the IBCC. <br />Roundtables may initiate tallcs among themselves. Mel Rettig expressed disappointment that the <br />Colorado Basin Roundtable has not yet met with other Roundtables and that we should have <br />started this a year ago. <br />7. Report from Education Committee: Several "Town Hall" meetings have been held already as <br />part of the Roundtables public outreach and education as mandated by the 1177 legislation. <br />Meetings have been held in Grand Junction, Frisco and Avon (Eagle Valley). A meeting in the <br />Winter Park area is being planned for sometime in September. <br />8. Report from Nonconsumptive Needs Assessment Subcommittee -Lane Wyatt reported that <br />the studies being conducted for the Roaring Fork River and upper Colorado River as pilot <br />projects is on track. Nicole at CDM could be ready to make a presentation on the pilot projects <br />at the August meeting. <br />9. Report from Energy Subcommittee -The report is not quite ready for presentation to the <br />Roundtable. The Executive Sununary has been worked on extensively and should provide a <br />good worlang overview for Roundtable members. There is a lot of data and the committee is <br />trying to ensure consistency.
