Intrastate Water Management & Development Section -Water Supply Reserve Account Grant <br />Application -City of Las Animas -City of Las Animas Sanitary Sewer System Improvements <br />Tape 5, Track 1 00:50:25 - 00:54:34 <br />Action: The proposed project is clearly an important priority of the City of Las Animas and has <br />several sources of funding to leverage WSRA funds. However, as discussed in the board <br />memo, the water supply and potential non-consumptive benefits of the proposed project <br />are either marginal or do not appear to exist. In addition, only a few statewide evaluation <br />criteria are met by the project. For these reasons, CWCB staff does not recommend <br />funding of the Las Animas Sanitary Sewer System Improvements. A motion was made <br />by Barbara Biggs and seconded by John Redifer to approve staff recommendations. Staff also recommends <br />funding of up to $200,000 from the Statewide Account to the City of Las Animas for <br />their Water System Improvements Project. A motion was made by Eric Wilkinson and <br />seconded by Barbara Biggs to approve staff recommendation. Funding is <br />contingent on successful resolution of the items identified in the issues/additional needs <br />section of the Board memo. Eric Wilkinson was not present for this motion. The motion <br />was approved (7-1). <br />Intrastate Water Management & Development Section -Water Supply Reserve Account Grant <br />Application -Colorado State Parks -Colorado State Parks Zebra Mussel Response <br />Tape 5, Track 1 00:14:11- 00:17:17 <br />Action: The applicant is requesting that the Board waive the requirement that the application be <br />submitted to the CWCB no later than 60 days prior to the Board meeting, as outlined in <br />the WSRA Criteria and Guidelines. Since these criteria and guidelines were developed <br />and approved jointly by the CWCB and the IBCC, both entities must agree to this <br />request. The IBCC agreed to waive this requirement at their March 7, 2008 meeting. <br />CWCB staff is recommending that the Board also waive this requirement. A motion was <br />made by Barbara Biggs and seconded by Eric Wilkinson to approve staff <br />recommendation.
