(Please include county, and approximate distance and direction <br />from nearest town, as well as legal description, ifknown. <br />The Pine RiverlWeminuche Ditch diverts its supply from an unsurveyed location on the Rio <br />Del Los Pinos. a tributanr of the San Juan River in Hinsdale County and carries it across the <br />Continental Divide to the Rio Grande Reservoir for use in the Rio Grande drainaee. The <br />District's service area includes lands in Alamosa. Rio Grande. Sae:uache. Hinsdale and <br />Mineral Counties as depicted on the attached map. <br /> <br />5. Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed project including purpose, need, <br />facilities, type of water uses to be served and service area. Attach separate sheet. if needed. <br /> <br />The Conservancy District. throueh its Water Activity Enterprise. has previously purchase <br />one-half (50%) or 9.00 cfs of the water riehts in the Pine RiverlWemuniche Ditch. The <br />use of those transmountain water riehts were chaneed for use in the District's <br />Auementation Proeram in Case Nos. 84CW16 and 94CW62. District Court. Water <br />Division No.3. There is an increasine demand for auementation water to replace <br />depletions cause by new domestic and related commercial development in the Rio Grande <br />Basin. The District's Water Activity Enterprise now has the opportunity to acquire an <br />additional one-third (33.33%) or 6.00 cfs. of the Pine RivelWeminuche Ditch water <br />riehts. which have been used for the irrieation of land in the Rio Grande Basin. and <br />incorporate that water into the District's Auementation Proeram to assist in meetine the <br />Basin's increasine demand for auementation water. <br /> <br />6.
