The remedy is to install sheetpiling and a concrete seal on
the overflow portion ofthe existing structure. Recently there has been seepage under the
structure, which will over time undermine and cause a failure. Enclosed herewith is a single
sheet design that depicts our proposed repair.

During the proposed work, a temporary working platform oflocal soil will be needed to set up
the necessary equipment. This will be a fill in the river next to the structure. This material will
be removed from the river and the existing contours replaced at the end of the project.

REQUEST

Tetra Tech RMC requests that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers review our proposed remedy to
determine if a USACE permit is required. A letter is requested so that the proposed project can
continue to construction or requesting revisions be made to satisfy the Corps.

JAi\, 2 2, 2004

1900 S.
