The estimated total cost of the project is $1,900,000. Please
see the attached project summary and map.
Backqround
The SIDC, located in Bouider County, operates the Supply Ditch for the benefit of the
shareholders by providing direct flow irrigation water. The Suppiy Ditch diverts from St. Vrain
Creek near Lyons and delivers water through a 15 -mile ditch system to the 8,500-acre service
area as a partiai supply. The Supply Ditch operates without and equalizer reservoir and it is
difficult to control direct flow deliveries. The SIDC has an opportunity to acquire a perpetual
easement to use the Knoth Reservoir as well as a conditional water right to store 542 acre-feet.
The reservoir would be used to equalize ditch fiows and store the conditional decree. The
Company would pay the cost of the rehabilitation as a condition of acquiring these rights.
r

Feasibility Studies
Duane Smith, P.E., (Smith Geothechnical, Fort Collins), has completed the Feasibility Study. The
study includes an assessment of alternatives available for rehabilitation of the Knoth Reservoir
Dam.
The Supply Irriqatinq Ditch Company
The SIDC is a mutual ditch company and a non-profit corporation registered in the State of
Colorado. There are 160 shareholders and 400 shares of stock. The SIDC has the power to set
annual assessments to be paid by the shareholders, the power to cut off water deliveries to
shareholders that fail to pay their assessments, and the power to offer stock for sale to pay
back assessments.
Flood ProCection • bVater Project Planning and Financing • Sfream and Lake Prolection
Water Supply Prolection • Conservation Plannina
