• Compilation of findings and materials provided <br />o Characterization of preferences and interests <br />o Compilation of Plans and Processes identified <br />o Report on each meeting, with comment from participants if provided <br />• Synthesis and observations report on findings <br />• Additional comment by Committee, and Basin Roundtable <br />• Recommendations on potential participation improvements and means of involvement <br />in water arrangements <br />• Recommendations for future activity in this area. <br />Task 3 Workshops on Revegetation and Crop Rotation Design <br />• Prepare explanatory materials, schedule meetings, provide background information, and <br />arrange participation of desired experts and scientists. <br />• Report findings and research needs identified. <br />• Engage CSU Co-operative Extension, selected scientists from neighboring states with <br />expertise, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDA Agricultural <br />Research Service, and other groups, and develop design with Colorado Water <br />Resources Center advice. <br />Method <br />• Building on previous workshops as finally reported in Fa112007, with advice from the <br />Committee, Wiener will follow previously successful pattern of assembling an expert <br />panel to address each of the topics in separate one-day workshops. <br />• Summaries of workshops will be circulated as draft reports for correction, amendment <br />and additions, and revised summaries will be again circulated. <br />• After additional revisions or additions, reporting will be made to the Committee and in <br />the public report to CWCB and all. <br />Deliverables <br />• Synthesis and observations report on findings, with report on discussion as approved <br />and supplemented by the participants and other contributors (e.g. people unable to <br />attend but wanted, and people identified outside the region but knowledgeable). <br />• Additional comment by Committee, and Basin Roundtable <br />• Recommendations on potential participation improvements and means of involvement <br />in water arrangements <br />• Recommendations for future activity in this area. NOTE: The workshop form of <br />inquiry is designed to quickly and economically identify areas where there are high <br />concerns or important unknowns, and areas where knowledge supports application <br />directly, as in design of a rotation for a given purpose. Please see "rationale for <br />inquiries", above, for further description of the importance of the goals. <br />Task 4 Facilitation of Water Transfer Committee Meetings and Inquiries <br />• Assist in preparation of explanatory materials, scheduling meetings, providing <br />presentations, and facilitation of meetings of both the Committee and for the inquiries as <br />described. <br />15 <br />
