Water Supply Reserve Account -Grant Application Form
Form Revised May 2007
2. Describe how the water activity meets these Threshold Criteria.
1. The water activity meets the eligibility requirements outlined in Part 2 of the Criteria and
Guidelines.
This water activity meets the eligibility requirement by providing further information
about aquifer characteristics in the largest "gap" area in the State of Colorado and will
further the dialogue regarding water management in this critical area of the state.
2. The water activity is consistent with Section 3 7-75-102 Colorado Revised Statutes. The
requirementsllanguage from the statute is provided in Part 3 of the Criteria and Guidelines.
The water needs assessment will not restrict the ability of the holder of a
water right to use or to dispose of that water right in any manner
permitted by Colorado law and is consistent with CRS 37-75-102.
3. The water activity underwent an evaluation and approval process and was approved by the Basin
Roundtable (BRT) and the application includes a description of the results of the BRTs evaluation
and approval of the activity. At a minimum, the description must include the level of agreement
reached by the roundtable, including any minority opinion(s) if there was not general agreement for
the activity. The description must also include reasons why general agreement was not reached (if it
was not), including who opposed the activity and why they opposed it. Note- If this information is
included in the letter from the roundtable chair simply reference that letter.
The South Metro Water SupplyAuthoritypresented its application to the
Metro Basin Roundtable and the grantwas approved in the amount
noted above by the roundtables during its March meetings. The meeting
notes from the meeting should reflect the approval.
4. The water activity meets the provisions of Section 37-75-104(2), Colorado Revised Statutes. The
requirementsllanguage from the statute is provided in Part 3 of the Criteria and Guidelines.
This projects meets the provisions of CRS 37-75-104(2)(c) by providing
more information regarding a 'gap' area identified as part of the
Statewide Water Supply Initiative. This information generated in the
study can be added to existing consumptive use needs assessment
information.
4
