TABLE 6
PAONIA RESERVOIR END-OF-MONTH STORAGE TARGETS
END-OF-MONTH TARGET
(acre-feet)
MONTH
Jan6,500
Feb1,500
Mar1,500
Apr1,500
May1,500
Jun17,500
Jul17,500
Aug17,500
Sep17,500
Oct6,500
Nov6,500
Dec6,500
3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The historical and future operations of Paonia Reservoir were evaluated through review of the storage
decrees and the storage allocation agreements between the United States and the two water user groups.
Target storage values were imported from the GUNMOD model. The reservoir element was structured
to account for the practice of releasing water from storage in anticipation of high runoff and spills as well
as the operational releases for supplemental irrigation under the Fire Mountain Canal and Ragged
Mountain exchanges. The reservoir element closely replicates the historic and intended future operation
of the reservoir.
The on-line documentation for the MODSIM water rights planning model contains additional
information about the implementation of Paonia Reservoir into the model.
5
A275 01.09.95 1.15-23 Fosha, Hyre
